During the Princess of Wales’ visit to south Wales today (Thursday, January 30) many people noticed one detail tying her fashion to Wales. Catherine visited a children’s hospital in Sully as well as textile factory, Corgi, in Ammanford donning a pair of earrings made by a Welsh jewellery designer.
The 43-year-old royal, who visited Wales today during her slow return to public duties, was pictured wearing the £89 earrings again after being spotted in them on numerous occasions. The Princess first wore the earrings made by independent Welsh jeweller, Hayley Jones during a trip to Barry Island in August 2020, and again on a festive visit to Cardiff later that year.

She was seen wearing them once more on St David’s Day in Abergavenny in March 2022, and again during Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s inaugural official visit to Wales the same year. You can read more about Hayley’s journey here.
Kate visited the Ty Hafan facility in Sully, a children’s hospice supporting children and families after a child is diagnosed with a life-shortening condition, spending time with the children playing games and musical instruments. It was announced during her visit that she had been made Patron of Ty Hafan, an honour that was given to Princess Diana in the 1990s.
The second destination of the Princess’ visit was the textile manufacturer, Corgi, in Ammanford, where she was met with cheers from and adorning crowd. Read the biggest stories in Wales first by signing up to our daily newsletter here

This recognition comes seven years after Hayley launched her jewellery business from her kitchen table in Caerphilly, initially selling her pieces on Etsy. Demand for Hayley’s bespoke jewellery soared after her designs’ first public showing, leading her to enlist the help of her mother, Dawn, and sister, Kelly, to manage the surge in orders.
It didn’t hurt when supermodel Kendall Jenner was seen donning the brand’s hooped earrings at a basketball game over in New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
The designer said: “It has been so amazing seeing the Duchess Of Cambridge wearing my earrings, I still have to pinch myself as I still cannot quite believe it! It has helped my small business so much, and I am so thankful.”
“It has been amazing seeing the Duchess of Cambridge wearing my earrings here in Wales. I am so grateful and honoured. The earrings were inspired by Welsh Celtic twists, as I wanted to tie in Welsh Heritage into the collection.”
