When it comes to sibling relationships, it sounds like Kate Middleton and her brother James have always had a strong one. In fact, the younger Middleton claims that he may be behind the reason why everyone loves the princess so much.
Middleton’s younger brother opened up a bit about his childhood with the royal in an interview with Hello!, where he explained how she honed her nurturing instincts on him when he was just a child.

According to him, both his sisters spent a lot of time caring for him when they were kids, thanks to the fact that he was the baby of the family.
“I wouldn’t say I was indulged — and there are pros and cons of being the youngest,” he said. “The pros are that you get away with quite a lot… I jokingly say that I had three mothers growing up. I had my mother and my two sisters, who were mothering figures to me.”
They went well beyond serving as second (and third) mothers to their brother, according to Middleton, who said that both girls would always be sure that the youngest sibling never felt left out.
“I was very fortunate,” he continued. “We had a fantastic childhood, and they included me in everything they did, and still do. I’m now in my late 30s and we still have that friendship.”
We have to admit, that totally confirms everything we’ve ever believed to be true about the royal, especially after watching her spend more than a decade in the public eye, where she always seemed to gravitate towards the young and the old alike.
It’s always nice to find out that someone who seems to be kind and caring is genuinely that way behind closed doors. It sounds like mama Middleton got a light right when she was raising her kids, and all three of them seem to have grown up to be terrific adults. Well done, Carole!
