Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are long overdue for an onscreen reunion. Fortunately, audiences won’t have to wait long.

The Hollywood A-listers, who first teamed up more than 30 years ago for the classic action film Speed then co-starred in 2006’s romantic-fantasy The Lake House, are ready for their next joint project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the beloved duo are attached to co-star in a new romantic thriller that has been described by one source as “propulsive.”

Pretty much all details about the project are still under wraps, minus the fact that their Speed producer Mark Gordon is the one who approached the stars and will be the creative force behind the project, which is being developed for Amazon MGM. Both Bullock and Reeves are also attached as producers.

For fans of Bullock, in particular, the news comes as great news. The Oscar-winning actress has been taking a break from Hollywood following the 2023 death of her longtime partner, photographer Bryan Randall, who passed away at the age of 57 following a three-year battle with ALS. The 60-year-old actress was last seen in the 2022 action-comedy The Lost City opposite Channing Tatum.

Reeves, meanwhile, has been keeping plenty busy. Most recently, he’s done a bit of voice acting in everything from Severance to Sonic the Hedgehog (voicing Shadow in both the video game and last year’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3), and will next be seen opposite Ana de Armas in the John Wick spinoff Ballerina.

Both Reeves and Bullock have since admitted to having a “crush” on the other one while making Speed (unbeknownst to the other) and have regularly lauded each other—both as actors and human beings.
