David and Victoria Beckham were shocked by Brooklyn and Nicola’s meeting with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, intensifying the growing tension between the camps.
Sources close to the couple told the Daily Mail that the Beckhams had “no idea” the meeting was taking place, calling it a “cruel blow” given the unresolved fallout between the two families. The rift dates back several years when Harry allegedly accused Victoria Beckham of leaking stories about Meghan to the press—an accusation that reportedly left David “absolutely furious”.
Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence from David’s 50th birthday celebrations earlier this month already raised eyebrows, and this latest encounter—with Harry and Meghan—has only deepened the divide. The meeting is believed to have taken place at the Los Angeles home of Paramount CEO Brian Robbins, a close neighbor of the Sussexes.
A source claimed: “David and Victoria had no idea about the meeting, leaving them blindsided that their errant offspring had joined ‘the other side.’” The insider added that Brooklyn was present during the original falling-out and “knew exactly how hurt his parents were”.
Interestingly, the gathering appears to have been a networking-heavy Hollywood event, with multiple VIPs and film executives in attendance. One theory is that Brooklyn and Nicola were invited due to David’s recent TV deal with Paramount+.
Adding another twist, a source told PEOPLE magazine: “While it was an intimate gathering, there were several additional guests. Brooklyn and Nicola had a wonderful time and found Harry and Meghan to be particularly kind, caring, and generous.”
The incident has left the Beckham camp feeling “betrayed”, especially given Victoria’s early support of Meghan when the duchess first joined the royal fold. A family insider described the meeting as either a “kick in the teeth” or a “screw you,” depending on which side you’re on.
