The gap between the most well-known brothers of the British royalty seems to be widening. Amid a scenario marked by distance, Prince William has surprised with a decision that can be interpreted as a veiled message toward his brother Harry.

The Prince of Wales has confirmed his participation in an upcoming episode of Clarkson’s Farm. It is a British television program that shows rural life through humor and the experiences of host Jeremy Clarkson.

The “betrayal” of Prince William to his brother Harry

This cameo comes after William attended an event of the Duchy of Cornwall dedicated to promoting generational succession among tenant farmers. There he shared relaxed moments with Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland, two protagonists of the program.

Amid laughter, the prince shared a curious anecdote on behalf of his eldest son, George: “George is watching you,” he said to Kaleb. “I asked him what he wanted me to tell you if I saw you, and he said, ‘Tell him to watch his language.'” Kaleb admitted to having been reprimanded for using swear words.

However, this connection between the House of Wales and Clarkson’s Farm is not without controversy. In December 2022, Jeremy Clarkson caused a wave of criticism after publishing a column in The Sun with offensive comments toward Meghan Markle.

His text included derogatory expressions that provoked more than 25,000 complaints to the British press regulator. Although Clarkson and the newspaper withdrew the article, a spokesperson for the Sussexes clarified that there was no direct apology to Meghan.

    New setback for Prince Harry

This context makes William’s appearance on the program interpreted as a sign that he is not seeking a close reconciliation with Harry. The Duke of Sussex, who resides in California, admitted in an interview with the BBC his desire to restore the family relationship.

“I would love to reconcile with my family, there’s no point in continuing to fight, life is wonderful.” However, he also acknowledged the difficulties: “I don’t know how much time my father has left…” A phrase that further fueled the controversy and tensions.

Additionally, he pointed out that “he doesn’t want to talk to me about the matter of my security, but it would be nice to reconcile, although they don’t want that.” The battle for Harry’s security in the United Kingdom remains a critical point that hinders dialogue between the brothers and King Charles III.

Meanwhile, this new television participation of William reflects that distance continues to set the tone in the most media-covered fraternal relationship of the moment. There seem to be no signs of rapprochement, and that separation continues to generate tension between the brothers.
