It sounds like Prince William and Kate Middleton have something in common with their middle child, they’re all very big on physical activity. Princess Charlotte apparently really loves getting physical, just like her famous parents. And, that couldn’t make her father more proud, which is why he was gushing about his little girl while chatting up an Olympic runner during a recent meet-and-greet.

The 42-year-old shared the happy news while talking with Keely Hodgkinson while she was visiting Windsor Castle. The 23-year-old then shared the little tidbit with reporters for Hello!, letting them know what all the proud papa had to say about his little girl.

“The prince told me his daughter is doing the 400m at the minute and the hurdles and that she did watch me in Paris,” Keely revealed. “He told me that he remembers me winning and that he wished he could be there to see it himself.”

But, the prince had a good reason for missing the race, since he stayed home to avoid coming into contact with germs while he was there, since Middleton was undergoing preventative chemotherapy at the time. The treatment would’ve suppressed her immune system, which could’ve had disastrous effects if Prince William had exposed her to any illnesses during that vulnerable time.

News that Princess Charlotte has an affinity in sports isn’t exactly unexpected, since her love for soccer — especially playing in goal — is somewhat well known. The little girl also loves the sport of netball, which her famous mother had been teaching her how to play at home.

Given just how much Prince William and Kate Middleton love sports and staying active, we’re not exactly shocked to hear that Charlotte is taking after them. Hopefully the trio will get to bond even further over their shared love of all things competitive.
