Gwyneth Paltrow shared details about her friendship with Meghan Markle in an interview with People published on May 18.

The Goop founder said that although she and Markle aren’t close, they still have a casual relationship. “We have a text friendship so far. I’ve been traveling quite a bit,” she explained.

Addressing talk of a feud between them, Paltrow told the publication, “I don’t like that, when people try to pit women against each other.”

As for Markle’s Netflix lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan,” Paltrow is open to making an appearance. “Sure! Why not? You never know. I don’t bake that well, but I can always try,” she said.

In an attempt to stop talk of beef between Paltrow and Markle, the two posted an Instagram Story together on March 25, the Daily Mail reported.

During a Q&A, a fan asked Paltrow, “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?”

Paltrow answered, “I genuinely do not understand this at all whatsoever.” She asked the person beside her, “Do you understand this?” only to show Markle on the screen.

In March 18, Paltrow told Vanity Fair, “I don’t know Meghan and Harry. I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all.”

She then quipped, “Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.”

Referencing Goop and Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever, Paltrow quickly shut down any competition between the two.

“I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try,” she said.
