A viral video of Meghan Markle saying she “works so hard” on a podcast has sparked debate among fans.

The Duchess of Sussex sat down with IT Cosmetics founder, Jamie Kern Lima, to discuss her new business ventures and the launch of her brand As Ever.

During the conversation, Meghan stated, “Oh my gosh I work so hard and I appreciate what hard work looks like, I like working hard, and I’m still working hard, right? The moment everything sells out it doesn’t mean that we’re done.”

She then briefly outlined the nature of her work, which includes “writing social media posts,” deciding “what to wear for shoots,” and “editing time coded notes” for her new Netflix series With Love Meghan.

The clip, which has been viewed more than 160,000 times, has left some fans questioning whether Meghan’s work is truly challenging. One fan commented under the video, “Imagine being a doctor or nurse watching her say how hard her social media captions are.”

Products from Meghan’s new line flew off the virtual shelves, selling out in under an hour, but critics claim scarcity was manufactured to create buzz. An industry expert explained to MailOnline, “Showing that there is a sell out is very common for new brands to fake demand. There is no warehouse full of jams.”

Renae Smith, at The Atticism, shared with Express.co.uk her view on the strategy, “It looks like Meghan launched, sold out, and then ghosted the audience. That doesn’t build anticipation, it creates the sense that the brand doesn’t know what it wants to be…” Fans eager to get their hands on the goods have been left in the lurch, as the collection has yet to see any restock since its initial drop.
