Prince William and Kate Middleton’s relationship mirrors many common love stories.

Their journey began at the University of St Andrews where their early friendship eventually developed into a loving partnership. However, their life after university wasn’t easy and the pair split temporarily. Nevertheless, William and Kate came back together stronger than ever, ultimately leading to them settling down together.

When Kate married William, she had to get used to a whole new life inside the royal family. Despite the frenzy over her famous husband, Kate remained down-to-earth. When someone remarked on her good fortune in dating the prince, Kate boldly countered with a now-famous response.

Following a particularly challenging year that included Kate undergoing cancer treatments and stepping back from royal engagements to focus on healing, William posted a heartfelt message to honor his wife on her 43rd birthday.

William’s touching note praised his wife, “To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable,” and added, “George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W.”

On Valentine’s Day, William and Kate shared a cozy snapshot on social media in what appears to be their first nod to the holiday in public. The image featured the couple relaxed on a picnic blanket, with William giving Kate a kiss on the cheek as she beams, holding his hands.

While not usually one for public displays of affection, the Prince and Princess of Wales surprised fans with the heartfelt post, complete with a heart emoji, highlighting their commitment to each other.

Following her completion of cancer treatment, Kate shared how the experience brought a change in her outlook, saying, “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.

“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
