A source told the Mail on Sunday: “All of a sudden they have enlisted the help of the Sussexes’ long-serving lawyer. Nicola and Brooklyn are getting fed up of stories running they don’t like. Nicola likes to control everything and they have taken this rather drastic action.”
The source added: “For the Beckhams, the irony isn’t lost. They fell out with Meghan and Harry after they accused them of leaking stories – they were furious and Brooklyn knows that. The two couples are very close indeed.”
It was reported that David and Victoria Beckham were “blindsided” when finding out their eldest son, Brooklyn and his wife attended an intimate dinner party at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s multi-million pound mansion in Montecito, California.
Brooklyn and Nicola were invited to the Sussexes’ £11 million home in California for a gathering that included around 18 guests — among them Paramount CEO Brian Robbins and his wife Tracy, both close friends of Meghan and Harry. Critics have pointed out similarities between the two couples and their public feuds with their respective families.
It comes as on May 3, the Beckhams celebrated David’s milestone birthday with a star-studded dinner in London, which was attended by all of Brooklyn’s siblings, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13.
On Instagram, David also shared photos of what appeared to be a more intimate celebration that Brooklyn and Nicola were also not at.
Billionaire heiress, Nicola, has since faced accusations of “controlling” Brooklyn and is believed to be at the centre of the escalating feud between the Peltz and Beckham families.
However, those close to Nicola have rushed to her defence, as one of her friends told Mirror Online: “She is not isolating him [Brooklyn] at all. He is free to do what he wants and he loves his wife and they are happy together. They are each other’s family.”
One week ago, Brooklyn posted a video of the couple on a motorbike, with the caption: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.”
