Kate Middleton has opened up about her one sweet wish for her niece shortly after her birth.

Princess Lilibet, the only daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, turns four today (June 4).

The young princess was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California and lives in Montecito with her two parents and older brother, Archie.

The family is not thought to keep regular contact with their royal relatives, and some members of the royal family have never met the Sussex children.

As reported by HELLO!, royal correspondent Danielle Stacey said: “It has never been officially confirmed whether the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children have met Princess Lilibet.”

Nevertheless, following Lilibet’s birth, Kate disclosed during a TikTok by CBS News in June 2021 that she had not yet spoken to her niece.

When asked about any wishes for Lilibet, Kate optimistically remarked, “I wish her all the very best.”

She then added: “I can’t wait to meet her, because we haven’t yet… met her yet, so hopefully that will be soon.”

The Princess of Wales was then asked if she had FaceTimed with her young niece, reports the Mirror. To this, she heartbreakingly responded: “No, I haven’t. No.”

Last year, Harry and Meghan celebrated Lilibet’s third birthday with a special party at their home, keeping the guestlist small.

While no members of the Royal Family attended the party, it is believed a number of Meghan and Harry’s close friends, as well as their daughter’s peers, celebrated the big day with the young princess.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn said that stars such as Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and their daughter Daisy joined the party.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror last year, Tom said: “Rather than go for a low-key celebration Harry and Meghan have spent the past weekend enjoying a pre-birthday bash for their daughter Lillibet’s third birthday – hugely expensive presents have been ruled out but the couple’s mansion in California was awash with celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy who is just a few months older than Lilibet.”

Since relocating to Montecito, California, following their departure from Royal duties, Meghan and Harry count Katy and Orlando among their neighbours, along with other high-profile personalities like Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Oprah Winfrey.

While there were plenty of celebrities at Lilibet’s birthday party, members of the Royal Family weren’t invited.

Tom who said: “Shockingly no invitations to Lilibet’s party were issued to members of the Royal Family.”

Last month also saw Meghan having Mother’s Day celebrations on May 11 with her children, according to the US calendar.
