The Prince of Wales served up breakfast rolls to soldiers and their families during his first visit to the Army Air Corps since becoming Colonel-in-Chief.
Prince William met some of the members of 3rd and 4th Regiments during his time at their base in Wattisham, Suffolk.
He was also given a demonstration on lessons learned from the corps’ overseas deployment and presented a number of awards to troops.
The Prince arrived at the airfield by Wildcat helicopter before being given a demonstration of a command post where members of the unit briefed him on lessons learned from Ukraine as well as how the soldiers are adapting to the new AH-64E Apache helicopters.
He was also given a demonstration of the physical training the members of the ACC undergo to carry out their duties before joining the “Archer’s Breakfast”.
During the weekly social event hosted by 664 Squadron, the Prince helped serve up food to personnel and families.
Finally, the Prince of Wales, who flew helicopters himself as an RAF search and rescue pilot, handed out a King’s Commendation for Valuable Service to Captain Kenny Copeland for his work in Mali.

He said: “It was a huge honour. The Colonel-in-Chief to present the King’s Commendation is unbelievable.
“He’s the top person in the Army Air Corps, being our Colonel-in-Chief, and to have a chat with him today and shake his hand – it meant a lot.
“My wife and two boys were here – it was great.
“I think my wife was more in awe that she finally met William, who she named my eldest son after.
“It’s nice to see them reaping the benefits of supporting me for 23 years so far.”

Prince William also handed out a number of promotions during the visit.
Sergeant Alistair McAra, who was promoted from corporal to sergeant, said: “Great honour – totally unexpected.
“It just so happened that today has fallen on the same day he’s came to visit, so it’s been absolutely fantastic.
“What a day to be alive.”
