Kailyn Lowry’s 15-Year-Old Son Elliott Comes Out as Gay | E! News

i mean I’m doing it for me so you can do what you want like if you feel it’s necessary to come out then do it but if you don’t then just be yourself kayn Lowry’s son is embracing his true identity during the June 6th episode of his mom’s barely famous podcast the teenager who now goes by his middle name Elliot instead of Isaac sets the record straight on his sexuality i don’t think it’s necessary to come out i mean I’m doing it for me so you can do what you want like if you feel it’s necessary to come out then do it but if you don’t then just be yourself you know like you don’t have to prove anything to anyone so just be who you are and be true to yourself at the end of the day it’s for you kayn who shares the 15-year-old with her ex-boyfriend Joe Rivera says she’s proud of her son living authentically i’m just really proud of you it’s a really brave thing to do because not everyone can or wants to or has the safe space to live authentically like themselves and so um it’s just tears of pride and coming out as gay is just the latest step in Elliot’s journey to embrace his true self with the former Teen Mom star giving insight into why he decided to change his name i started going by Elliot because at some point I wasn’t happy with my first name i don’t know like I just like it just doesn’t feel like me or in some way i think the separation from my personal and private life or who I was on TV from who I am now that’s like the main reason but at some point I don’t know i just realized like I like my middle name better and again Kayla’s nothing but supportive of her son’s choice i can appreciate the separation between who you were and who you are today i I think that that is cool for you to recognize it’s cool for you to sort of decide what makes you comfortable [Music]
