Trooping the Colour is the most ceremonial of royal events, and often a highlight in the royal calendar for the year. Unlike the rest of us, the sovereign of the United Kingdom has always had two birthdays. In the case of King Charles, his real birthday is on 14 November and his official one changes every year but is always the second Saturday in June. It is on the latter occasion that the Trooping the Colour ceremony takes place outside Buckingham Palace, on the Mall and Horse Guards Parade.

The 2025 parade saw the King and Queen, Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Royal and Sir Tim Laurence, Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, as well as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, taking part in the event.
