Princess Kate displayed her warm and caring nature this past Saturday when she shared a tender moment with the eldest member of the Royal Family.

The 43-year-old Princess of Wales was among the senior royals who attended the annual Trooping the Colour celebrations, which mark the monarch’s official birthday.

In addition to participating in the procession via horse-drawn carriage, Kate also made an appearance on the renowned Buckingham Palace balcony. Here, she was spotted sharing a sweet interaction with the Duke of Kent, aged 89. The princess and the late Queen’s cousin were seen greeting each other on the balcony, with Kate gently resting her arm on the duke’s elbow.

According to Hello!, the duke reciprocated by giving the Princess of Wales a subtle air kiss, demonstrating the affectionate bond they share.

This incident further underscores Kate’s knack for maintaining good relations with all members of the Firm, reports the Express.

This heartwarming exchange comes just a month after they shared a similar warm embrace during the 80th anniversary of VE Day celebrations.

As she walked past the duke to take her seat for the procession in May, Kate softly placed her hand over his while exchanging quick greetings.

The pair shared broad smiles, yet another testament to the sweet relationship they enjoy.

Despite not being frequently seen, the Duke of Kent continues to be a full-time working Royal and undertakes numerous Royal engagements.

He primarily resides at Wren House on the Kensington Palace estate with his wife, the Duchess of Kent, who retired from Royal duties in 1996.

The duke is a regular fixture at significant Royal events, often spotted on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside other high-ranking royals.

Kate Middleton has been making her full return to her duties since announcing her remission in January.

At the event, which marks Charles’ official birthday (although his actual birthday is November 14), Kate resumed her role as honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards. She also paid tribute to the Irish Guards by wearing the unit’s regimental brooch.

“She projected the confidence of someone who has enthusiastically reconnected with her public duties,” royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told PEOPLE.

Kate returned to her duties fully in January after news of her remission from an undisclosed form of cancer, following announcing in September 2024 that she finished chemotherapy and was “cancer free.” She first disclosed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, following much speculation about Kate’s health and her whereabouts.

Kate has a few more royal engagements before the family takes a break for summer. She attended the historic Order of the Garter ceremony with William in Windsor on Monday, June 16. She is also set to go to the Wimbledon tennis championships. Last year, when she attended, she received a standing ovation as she was still undergoing cancer treatment.
