As a patron of the National Health Service Charities Together, Princess Kate Middleton has always been a passionate advocate for mental health support.
During her own cancer diagnosis and treatment, the princess highlighted the importance of early detection and has since returned to her usual public appearances. This time, she visited the RHS Wellbeing Garden in Colchester, bringing awareness to mental health support and nature’s therapeutic benefits.
The couple’s official Instagram page highlighted the trip, including the planting of “Catherine’s Rose,” which is a new garden rose named after the princess.
“Catherine’s Rose,” a rose pink floribunda, is bred by Harkness Roses. Proceeds from the flower will be donated to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
“The RHS has named this rose for Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, to celebrate the incredible healing power of nature and raise awareness of the important role that spending time outdoors plays in bringing us joy and supporting our mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing,” reads the Harkness website.
Fifty “Catherine’s Roses” were donated to the RHS Wellbeing Garden to support staff and patients.
