‘Mamma Mia!’ actor recalls ‘unbearable’ day on set and how Christine Baranski reacted to complaints
I’d be really honored. Um, and yes, to repraise my tiny tiny role of Petros would be so lovely also because I absolutely adore Colin Colin FTH who who’s been a really really important person in my life. Um, and and yeah, I just loved every second of of of rehearsing and and and shooting it and you know, it was wonderful. And Christine is such an amazing woman. I remember shooting that scene uh does your mother know on the beach and uh we were all just so hot and it was really summer like it was the the heat was unbearable and we had to do this massive number all the boys around her um and like I don’t know eight hours later all the boys who are 20 are complaining and and she’s like come on guys we’re doing what we love and all of a sudden everyone just kind of got it. He’s like, “Yeah, what what what we complaining about? This is exactly, you know, what we’re here for.” So, it was um it was amazing and she’s amazing and everyone in that movie was just so great.
“Mamma Mia!” actor Juan Pablo Di Pace is recalling an unbearably hot day on the set of the franchise’s first film — and how Christine Baranski kept it cool.
Baranski, 73, played Tanya in the 2008 musical comedy and reprised her role in its 2018 sequel, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.”
