Experts weigh in on why Diddy’s career is likely to bounce back after trial: ‘We are very forgiving’

Lisa Diddy’s reputation obviously is forever changed, his life and reputation. He’s facing a gazillion civil lawsuits and he’s definitely not the flashy cars and yachts guy that we saw up until now, you know. So, I don’t know if you can answer this, but how do you think this is going to affect his wealth
and his place in pop culture? Well, in terms of his wealth, he has 70 or so uh civil suits that need to be dealt with. So, that is one. So, in terms of his wealth, he’s going to be paying lawyers to defend those. In terms of pop culture, I understand that they are looking already to have a party for him and his release. And you, it’s important to understand that he had a large contingent of people that were behind him and were in support of him. And Americans, we are very forgiven, especially in the black community. We are very forgiving. And in terms of that, you know, there it’s still a divide and there are still people that do believe that he was guilty of these charges. But again, only thing that matters is what the jury has stated.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution but not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering in his highly publicized federal trial on Wednesday. Page Six senior reporter Carlos Greer and entertainment lawyer Lisa Bonner weigh in.

The maximum sentence for a transportation to engage in prostitution charge — which is the crime in which an individual knowingly transports another across state lines or international borders for the purpose of prostitution — is 10 years. Since Combs was found guilty of two counts, he faces 20 years.

However, the rap mogul’s official sentencing will take place at a later date.

The jury — which consisted of eight men and four women — submitted a letter to the judge at around 9:52 a.m. ET, informing him that they had reached a unanimous decision on all counts.
