A playful jab at the tension between the Royal Family and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is featured in a promo for the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of London. Released on July 15, the trailer spotlights cast member Panthea Parker as she unveils her audacious scheme to question King Charles about his estrangement from Harry and Meghan during a Royal event.
In the clip, Panthea is seen riding with her spouse, British attorney Ed Parker, presumably heading to a Buckingham Palace garden party. Panthea declares: “I’m going to go, ‘How do you feel about Harry and what he did?'”
Her husband interjects with humor, pretending to quote from an instruction leaflet: “It says, specifically, ‘Do not ask the monarch about Harry and Meghan.'”
This proposed bold inquiry into Royal affairs coincides with recent attempts at mending fences between Prince Harry and King Charles.
The Royal Family’s discord was thrust into the spotlight in 2020 when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex withdrew from their Royal responsibilities. Following their departure, Harry and Meghan divulged startling details about their experiences within the monarchy through their Netflix documentary series and Harry’s autobiography, Spare.
Prince Harry’s representatives have refuted claims of leaking information about the meeting, after specifics of the confidential discussions – including venue, timing and subject matter – surfaced in the Mail on Sunday following photographs of the participants on the club’s outdoor area.
The Real Housewives of London will debut on Monday, August 18, exclusively on streaming service Hayu, where viewers can witness the unfolding drama.
The series’ 10-episode season will chronicle six affluent London women: Juliet Angus, Amanda Cronin, Karen Loderick-Peace, Juliet Mayhew, Panthea Parker and Nessie Welschinger.
Comedian Katherine Ryan, 41, will present the reunion special when the series wraps up. She commented: “Hosting The Real Housewives of London reunion show is a dream opportunity for me.”
