Tucker Wetmore talks rise to fame, shares unreleased song, and DMs Sabrina Carpenter | Show the Shot

My DMs are open. Missing Brandon Carpenter. [Music] What’s going on everybody? I’m Tucker Wetmore and I’m playing Show the Shot or Take the Shot with Page Six. Here’s how it works. They’re going to ask me to show something juicy from my phone. If I don’t want to show it, I’ve got to take a shot of whiskey. Let’s get into it. Show us the last country song, Not Your Own, that you’ve had on repeat. I’m going old school with this one. I’ve had this one on repeat. Some Mel McDaniel. Hello, Daddy. And good morning, darling. Show us a never-before-seen video from the studio while making what not to. Let’s see. Oh, that’s a picture of my buddy’s ass. I’m not going to show that. How do I play it? Can you see it? Yeah, dude. I got to find out. It’s me being stupid. Show us the last voice memo you recorded for a song idea. Hey, there’s some weird stuff in here. Usually most of my voice memos are uh pretty early in the morning after a lot of Jack Daniels. I’m going to show this cuz this is cool. I don’t remember doing this unreleased music. [Music] Late June with freedom on our minds. Made plans for the paint by three. Before you know it, it’s half 9. Back then, living was free and all she was was mine. Heard some about some still. So, we grabbed a real and love. [Music] That’s all you get because I don’t remember the rest. Show or you can just tell us your Mount Rushmore of country music artists. George Strait, obviously, Alan Jackson, Keith Whitley, Kenny Chzn. I’ll lock it in. Nice. Nice. Show us who your current dream collaboration is. My DMs are open. Miss Sabrina Carpenter. What? Follow her. I was going to say you might want to follow her first, but Sabrina, I’m following you now. I didn’t know I wasn’t following you. I’m sorry. Show us a photo from when you made your Ryman Auditorium debut. Playing the Ryman was an absolute dream come true. That night was so special in like so many different ways. I had a bunch of my family, my entire team came and I was playing the freaking Ryman. It’s a huge staple in Nashville and if you don’t know what it is, you should definitely check it out sometime because it is a magical place. Actually, I’ll just show this one. I posted it, but I like this picture. So, that’s a book that The Ryman has backstage for all of the artists that that headline there. I wrote my first time playing The Ryman with two exclamation points. You were nominated for new male artist of the year at this year’s ACM Awards. Show us a photo from that night. All right. Here’s a funny picture from that night. This is my mom and Shabuzzi. Shabuzzi is a good buddy of mine, and my mom really wanted a picture with him. I mean, growing up, my mom was kind of like one of those moms that never missed a game. And that was kind of her old slogan or motto, but it was it was true. She never missed a game. And um whether she was working three jobs at a time or whatever, she would always make sure she was there, you know, on Friday nights for, you know, the football games or track meets or baseball games or whatever it was. So, you know, her watching me do everything that I’m doing now, it’s kind of tough for her because obviously she can’t come to everything because I’m everywhere all at once it feels like. But for her to be able to go to that meant a lot to her and just having that night with her was was real cool. Show us a photo of the biggest I made it moment in your career on your camera roll so far. Am I ever going to drink? So this is me at uh CMA Fest a couple months ago playing uh inside the stadium for the first time. [Applause] I remember getting up there blinking and then I was getting off. But um it was probably one of the coolest moments of my career so far. Show us a photo in your hidden folder. I have nothing to hide ever. Show us the last high-profile person to slide into your DMs. Well, Sabrina would figure it out. She hasn’t slid in yet. She just got the follow notification. She has not slid in yet. I’m sorry. That’s on me. Yeah, I’m just going to drink on that one. Cheers. Show us a video from backstage on the Veteran Boots tour that fans haven’t seen yet. Backstage is a uh it’s an interesting place to be, especially after playing a a show in front of a bunch of people. Everybody’s hyped up getting off stage and we do hyped up things, I guess. Should I out coop? Here’s my drummer stretching. Show us the last text between you and Thomas Rat. He sent me a song. Actually, that was that was the last text, but there’s stuff above it that I don’t want to show. I got to take another one. You’re born for this. You’re made for this. You can do this. What time is it? It’s 12:44 on a Wednesday. What’s today? It’s Thursday. What did I do? Drink yesterday and forget that, too. Ah, you’re welcome, Thomas. You know, before being on this tour, I was really excited to just be out on the road on a on a big tour, obviously, and um just to learn from one of the best. You know, he does it all so well, whether it’s family or touring or, you know, creative. He just he juggles it all so well and he’s done it for a long time. So, it’s cool to kind of just learn from a guy like that, you know. Show or tell us what’s on your tour writer. I’m a simple guy. I got beef jerky, trail mix, Tums because I get heartburn like I’m 80 years old, and neutrals, I guess, and Jack Daniels. That’s about it. Show us one of your most memorable fan interactions. Look how cracked my phone is. I got drunk the other day and threw it across the parking lot. Not because I was mad or anything. I don’t really get mad. I was just I thought it would be fun. One time this this lady came to a uh a meet and greet and she had something in her hand. And it was a mason jar full of like pickled meat. And she had two two cans of it or two jars of it. And she hands it to me. She goes, “I made this for you.” I didn’t know what to say. So I kind of just stared at her. I was like, “What is it?” She goes, “It’s pickled meat.” I was like, “How and why?” You know, like it looked like, “No offense if you see this and you you were the person to give it to me.” I didn’t try any of it cuz it kind of scared me. But I think I’m already tipsy, so that’s good. Another meet and greet. Um, this girl, I think she was like 13 years old, she came and uh gave me this bear. His name’s I I named him Tick. So, you got Tick and Tuck and he goes everywhere with us. That’s him on a plane. Yeah, he’s up on stage. He makes sure make sure we’re all right every night. Show us a recent gym picture you’ve taken. Okay. I don’t usually, but I I took like a like a progress picture the other day, but I really don’t I’m not that kind of guy, you know? I don’t really do that unless I’m feeling myself. I gotta show it. [Music] That’s me. That’s all you get. All right. Show us the celebrity you were most starruck meeting. So, this is uh me and Jason Aldine. That wasn’t the first time I met him, but that’s the only picture I could find right now. But, um, that was probably the most Starruck I’ve ever been, just cuz I’m a huge Aline fan and I have been since I was like yay big. A lot of your music went viral online, specifically Tik Tok. Show us a video currently in your Tik Tok drafts. All right, so this is uh me and my manager, and I think we were hung over the morning after on a flight where he’s being goofy, and obviously I got that song called Brunette. So I br show us the last thing in your notes app that has nothing to do with music. This is great. It’s my grocery list. And on it, it says cornhole bags, life vest time 7, and eggs and steak. Show us what your Instagram explore page looks like. It’s probably a bunch of boats. Yeah, it’s just boats and girls. Um, that’s about it. I’m going to drink. Show us your safari search history. Ain’t nothing shows up. How do I do it? Just not showing. I ain’t got nothing to hide. That’s all I know. Show us your last travel photo. I was at the lake. Well, I live at the lake. That’s me at the lake on the boat. I would like you to send a DM right now to Sabrina Carpenter. Either way, I’m shooting a shot. Shoot your shot right now. Or take the shot. What do I say? Hey, Sabrina, I’m drunk at noon on a Thursday. What are you doing? You know, hey, you can be my best friend. Or do I say you want to be friends? I don’t know. I’m nervous. I don’t do this. You got it. You got it. I got whiskey on my forearm. I’m sweating. I’m drunk. I don’t want to do it. All right. She’ll never see it anyways. You know what do I say? I love you. Just kidding. Smooth. All right. Think smooth. Like I need some water. Trying to think of something clever, but just wanted to keep it short and sweet. I think that’s pretty smooth. How’s that? I think that’s pretty smooth. I’m pretty proud of myself. And that is a wrap on Show the Shot or Take the Shot. Make sure to stream my debut album, What Not to, and come see me this summer on the Better Boots tour. I’ll see you guys out there.

Country music’s newest heartthrob Tucker Wetmore stopped by the Page Six Studio to drink with us and play a round of “Show the Shot or Take the Shot.” The 25-year-old rising star gave us a behind-the-scenes look at his whirlwind year, from recording his debut album “What Not To” to touring the country with Thomas Rhett.
