Tragedy has struck the royal family once more, after news that the cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, Rosie Roche, has been found dead in her family home.
As the granddaughter of Princess Diana’s uncle, Rosie Roche was the second cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry.
According to The Sun, the 20-year-old was reportedly found by her mother, Phillipa, and her sister, Agatha, on July 14, while getting ready to go on a trip with friends.
An inquest into the death has been subsequently adjourned until October 25, after the area coroner, Grant Davies, explained that police “have deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement.” A firearm was reportedly found near her body.
Rosie Roche was a student at Durham University working towards a degree in English Literature at the time of her death.
In an obituary published in The Yorkshire Post on July 14, Rosie’s family shared a touching message, writing: “Roche, Rosie Jeanne Burke. Died on Monday 14th July 2025.”
“Darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa, incredible sister to Archie and Agatha, Granddaughter to Derek and Rae Long,” it continued, before announcing that a private memorial service would be held at a later date.
The tragedy comes just a year after the royal family was hit by the loss of Thomas Kingston, husband to Lady Gabriella Windsor.
At the time, his family shared a statement remembering their “beloved husband, son and brother.”
“Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.”
