Rosie Roche, a 20-year-old cousin of Princes William and Harry, was found dead at her family home in Norton, Wiltshire, on Monday, July 14, according to The Sun. A firearm was reportedly discovered near her body. Rosie’s mother and sister found her shortly after she had been packing for an upcoming trip with friends, the outlet reported.

A coroner in Wiltshire and Swindon has opened an investigation, which has been adjourned until Oct. 25, according to The Sun. The coroner, Grant Davies, ruled the death as non-suspicious, confirming that there was no third-party involvement.

    Who Was Rosie Roche?

Rosie Roche was the granddaughter of Princess Diana’s uncle and a relative of the British royal family. She was studying English Literature at Durham University, where she was well regarded by faculty and students. A university spokesperson said she “will be sorely missed.”

An obituary published by the Yorkshire Post on July 19 described her as a “darling” daughter, sister, and granddaughter. “Roche, Rosie Jeanne Burke. Died on Monday 14th July 2025,” it reads. “Darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa, incredible sister to Archie and Agatha, granddaughter to Derek and Rae Long.” The obituary noted a private family funeral will take place, with a memorial service to be held later.

Roche’s death comes more than a year after Thomas Kingston, a British financier and husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, cousin to Princes William and Harry, died at age 45. Kingston, who was also a former boyfriend of Pippa Middleton, died in February 2024 from a gunshot wound to the head at his parents’ home in a Cotswolds village, England.
