Prince Harry has firmly rejected claims that he ever engaged in a physical altercation with his uncle, Prince Andrew.

After excerpts from a forthcoming book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, emerged, a representative for the Duke of Sussex informed HELLO! that the allegations were false.

“I can confirm Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry,” they stated to HELLO!

The publication suggests that in 2013 Harry and his uncle became involved in a physical confrontation over “something Andrew said behind Harry’s back”.

Featured in the Daily Mail, the excerpt from writer Andrew Lownie alleges that Harry and his sibling Prince William both maintain a “problematic” relationship with Andrew, claiming the 2013 altercation resulted in “Harry get the better of Andrew by all accounts,” leaving Andrew “with a bloody nose”.

The book further suggests that the Duke of York branded Harry “bonkers” for failing to thoroughly investigate the history of his then-partner Meghan Markle, with Andrew reportedly telling the Royal household that their union would be short-lived.

Harry and Meghan married in 2017 and currently reside in Montecito, California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Andrew supposedly “openly accused Meghan of being an opportunist,” describing her as “too old” for Harry; Harry “later told William that he hated Andrew,” according to the book’s claims.

Prince Harry and Meghan announced their plans to step down from royal duties in January 2020, with their final official engagement taking place two months later.

The couple’s statement, posted at the time on Instagram, read: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution…”
