Occurring just two days following the late Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, Prince William, Prince Harry, and their spouses presented a united front while greeting mourners outside Windsor Castle.

Although they were once known as the ‘fab four’, the Wales and Sussex couples were experiencing tension, particularly after the pair’s explosive sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, which included multiple claims against the Royal Family.

Reports later emerged that Princess Kate considered her public appearance “one of the hardest things she’d ever had to do” while Meghan’s physical demeanor indicated discomfort, according to body language analysis.

During one particular instance from the public engagement, Kate and Meghan can be observed making direct eye contact, with Meghan nodding before Harry wraps his arm around his spouse as she takes two hesitant backward steps.

Body language specialist Judi James explained to Femail at the time: “This is a phenomenal and unexpected scene that displays some natural caution and awkwardness in the body language..

“The four line up together to suggest some form of unity and it is William, with his puffed chest and air of confidence, who looks like the leader and instigator.”

The analyst continued: “Harry performs some clothing touch anxiety rituals, but Meghan seems to be on hand to offer comfort, support, and encouragement. Kate looks slightly distanced, although she is close to William when the couple split slightly.”

The final time Meghan and Kate were spotted in public together was during Commonwealth Day in March 2020. The Sussexes’ explosive sit-down with Oprah Winfrey was broadcast in March 2021, and Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022.

Following Prince Harry’s major setback in his U.K. security appeal, the prospect of another family gathering appears increasingly remote.

During his latest explosive BBC sit-down, Harry revealed his father “won’t speak to” him while insisting he desires “reconciliation”.

The American interview followed the prince being left “devastated” after his defeat in the fight for taxpayer-funded protection in the UK – which reportedly racked up $2 million in legal fees.

He went on to say that he “can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point”.
