Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have renewed its multimillion-pound deal with Netflix, despite reports that the deal would be coming to an end. The couple are “extending their creative partnership” in a new “multi-year” deal for film and TV projects, they have announced. A second series of the Duchess’s cooking series, With Love, Meghan ,will air this month, and a “holiday special” episode will air in December.

Speaking of the extension, Meghan has said in a statement on Monday afternoon: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand.” She added; “My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”

Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer, also said in a statement: “Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere.

“The response to their work speaks for itself – Harry & Meghan gave viewers an intimate look into their lives and quickly became one of our most-watched documentary series.

“More recently, fans have been inspired by With Love, Meghan, with products from the new As ever line consistently selling out in record time. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Archewell Productions and to entertain our members together.”

The couple signed the lucrative deal worth £78 million [$100m] in 2020, with it previously thought to be coming to an end in September.

The Sussexes produced five projects for Netflix, however, apart from their first bombshell docuseries, Harry & Meghan, the rest of them failed to attract many viewers.

The couple’s other projects included Heart of Invictus, Polo, Live to Lead and With Love, Meghan.

In 2022, Meghan was said to be working on an animated series called Pearl but the series was cancelled before it aired.

The series was planned to centre on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl, who is inspired by influential women from history.
