After her botched photo shoot with Variety made headlines all on its own, Sydney Chandler addressing what went down on her end and the leadup to a scheduled photo shoot promoting her Alien Earth series. Variety previously claimed a chaotic back and forth preceded Sid’s absence with the daughter of Kyle Chandler bumping on a planned Q&A game among the cast. Cindy now saying she didn’t know it was a quote deal breakaker to opt out of the on camera activity, telling Entertainment Weekly, “It was really unfortunate. I really wanted to be there for the photo shoot and I was ready to talk anything and everything alien. We have a down spacecraft. I want what’s on that ship. We can do it. We’re fast. We’re strong. We don’t break.” While the sci-fi adaptation setting Sydney up for a breakout role, she felt uncomfortable with this particular promotion. Quote, “Unfortunately, I was uninvited from the rest of the shoot, adding, I never meant to offend.” When EW followed up with Variety for comment, the outlet sharing in a statement, “We were clear from the start that our offer included video, and we continued to negotiate with her team through the morning of the shoot to see if she would participate. Sydney Chandler addressed her controversial exclusion from a ‘Variety’ cover of the ‘Alien: Earth’ cast, after communication broke down between her and the outlet ahead of the photoshoot. The 29-year-old—who’s the daughter of ‘Friday Night Lights’ alum Kyle Chandler—was originally scheduled to be interviewed alongside costar Timothy Olyphant and series creator Noah Hawley.
