A serious “alert” has been issued at the Windsor home where Prince William and Kate Middleton live with their three children, Prince George, Prince Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Per the BBC, the U.K. Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Met Office have both issued an “amber heat health alert,” in parts of England, including the surrounding areas of Adelaide Cottage, the home the family moved to in 2022 after leaving behind Kensington Palace in London.

As the UK continues to suffer the effects of an ongoing heatwave, which has caused wildfires and water shortages, Hello reports that the family’s Windsor estate is particularly vulnerable given its countryside surroundings.
“These fires are a stark reminder that the U.K. is not immune to the dangers of extreme heat,” Steve Cole, director of policy at The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), said, per Hello. “With temperatures soaring and vegetation drying out, the risk of wildfires increases dramatically, even in urban and coastal areas.”
“The fact is that many wildfires are preventable. Simple actions—like properly disposing of cigarettes, and avoiding open flames can make a huge difference,” he added. “Climate change is contributing to longer, hotter summers, and increasing the frequency of extreme weather events.”
It’s unclear if the family is currently staying at the Windsor residence. Kate and William’s kids are coming to the end of the summer break, but not yet back to school. The family has been enjoying the summer out of the public eye, including with a yacht vacation in Greece in July.
