Prince Harry has been compared to former friend – David Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn – by a columnist, who has dubbed the pair “sitting ducks”. Jan Moir, who writes in The Daily Mail, slammed Harry, 40, and Brooklyn, 26.

With both men having grown up with privileged upbringings – Harry being a royal and Brooklyn being the son of one of England’s most famous football players – Moir claimed they are both “thankless”. Her comments come in the context that both men seem to have split from their families, with Harry having quit royal life in 2020 and Brooklyn having appeared to have snubbed his family from his life. While Moir says many people have blamed the wives of Harry and Brooklyn for these family rifts the men are both involved in, the columnist believes that it is in fact also the result of some of the similarities the men share.

As reported by the Scottish Daily Express, Moir summarised Harry and Brooklyn in a brutal eight-word verdict, describing them as “grown men who failed to find a vocation”.

She wrote in The Daily Mail that Harry and Brooklyn are “two lost boys of the age; a pair of wet wipes with no real purpose or role in life, grown men who failed to find a vocation or a position, a telling degree of personal success or the ability to stand on their own two feet”.

The columnist also said that their “nepo connections” left them “showered with golden opportunities”, however they allowed themselves to be persuaded that they had been “wronged, slighted and overlooked” by their families.

Moir said: “The hurt they have caused to those they once loved is immeasurable.”

Both Harry and Brooklyn live in America with their wives, with a physical and emotional distance between them and their families in the UK.

Although Harry and his wife Meghan Marke, 44, have been openly critical of Harry’s royal relatives in the past, revealing just some of the reasons behind the rifts, the reason for Brooklyn’s rift with his family has not been as publicly confirmed.

While Harry used to share a good friendship with Brooklyn’s dad David Beckham, it is believed this friendship no longer exists, with Harry now sharing social circles closer to Brooklyn.

It was reported earlier this year that Harry and Brooklyn, along with their wives, both attended a dinner gathering hosted by Brian Robbins, the CEO of television giant Paramount and Nickelodeon, in Montecito.
