Carry On named one of USA TODAY’s best bars of 2025: Look inside

Take a look inside Carry On in Phoenix, Arizona, named one of USA TODAY’s best bars for 2025.

A Nickelodeon child star was spotted hosting a secret dinner party at Carry On bar in downtown Phoenix on Aug 20.

Drake Bell donned a dapper white suit with a blue, orange and gold airplane design emblazoned on the front as he played the keyboard at the Phoenix bar, which recently received the Best Bar Design Award from North America’s 50 Best Bars and was named one of USA TODAY’s Bars of the Year for 2025. Beverage director Jax Donahue was also a James Beard Award semifinalist in 2025.

Bell was a series regular on “The Amanda Show” with Amanda Bynes before starring in the hit show “Drake and Josh” alongside Josh Peck and Miranda Cosgrove from 2004-2007.

What was Drake Bell doing in Phoenix?

His performance was listed on Eventbrite for two separate experiences at 7:30 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m. with tickets starting at $268.61. It was hosted to promote his latest concept album titled “Non-Stop Flight.”

Attendees got to listen to the full album as if they were on an “exclusive Non-Stop Flight,” the event page stated. “On board this sonic experience, each song is a stop along a magical journey, accompanied by first-class selection of drinks and snacks for your senses.”

He stated that he knew the event had a “high ticket price” but explained that it would offer fans a chance to be “inside the album.” He said he would be hanging out with fans and performing as a “one-time thing” with “two flights” that hold thirty people a piece with “limited tickets.”

“It is that way too, because I had to actually completely buy the whole, it’s not a partnership, I had to basically buy the whole thing, pay for the whole thing,” Bell said in an Instagram live video posted on Aug. 12.

Party like Drake Bell at Carry On

Reservations are required at Carry On and flights last 90 minutes. “Tickets” are sold weekly first-come, first-serve. Doors close for the duration of the flight, so plan on staying for the entire 90-minute window.
