Prince Harry And Meghan Markle In Talks To Produce Princess Diana Documentary For Netflix – Report

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are reportedly considering a documentary about Princess Diana for Netflix, with the project possibly marking the 30th anniversary of Diana’s tragic death in a Paris car crash in 2027. The royal couple, who signed a new contract with the streaming giant earlier this month, are said to be in discussions about Harry’s involvement in the production, which would be a poignant tribute to his late mother.

Princess Diana’s documentary in the works?According to a source close to the couple revealed to The Sun, “If Harry wants to do this, then Netflix will be eager to sign up. They would jump at the chance.”

As part of their recent contract renewal with Netflix, several ideas for potential shows were reportedly discussed. Under the terms of the deal, Netflix has the first right of refusal for any content suggestions the couple brings forward. The agreement also includes covering the production costs for Archewell Productions, the couple’s production company.

The deal is already set to bring fresh content to the streaming platform, including the second season of Meghan’s lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which will premiere on August 26, 2025. In addition, Netflix has planned a “holiday special” of the show for December. The couple is also working on a short documentary, Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, which focuses on orphans in Uganda.

Prince Harry on how loss of Diana was isolating experience for him

Harry, who was just 12 years old when his mother passed away, has previously shared how the loss of Diana was a profoundly isolating experience for him. In a heartfelt letter to Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity supporting children who have lost parents in the military, he reflected on grief and the healing power of community. He wrote: “It can be overwhelming and isolating. Yet, in the midst of that heartache, we find strength in the love and memories left behind, and I have seen how communities like yours can offer deep comfort and healing.”

The Duke of Sussex also shared words of encouragement for those grieving, urging them to embrace the values instilled by their loved ones and build strong support systems to cope with loss. “In coming together to support one another, you not only honour the memories of your loved ones but also forge bonds that will carry you through the toughest times,” he added. “Your resilience is a testament to the legacy of your loved ones, and I have every confidence in your ability to make them proud and to shine bright in the world. All they want is for you to be happy.”
