Meghan Markle’s former friend has called her “bitter” and “angry” in a damning new interview. Radio and TV presenter Lizzie Cundy, who used to be a model, first became friends with Meghan, 44, at a party in 2013.
However, while Meghan was at first “sweet” to Cundy, the ex-model claimed that she was quickly ignored by the Duchess when she became involved with Prince Harry, 40. As they are no longer friends, Cundy has not been shy over recent years to reveal her true feelings.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Cundy reportedly told Richard Eden that Meghan is “bitter” about the British public’s love for Princess Kate.
Cundy reportedly said: “She’s fuming how the public love Kate. She needs to stop being bitter, stop being angry and stop being ‘poor me’.”
The presenter, 57, also said Meghan should “stop pretending” and “be who she is”.
She said: “It doesn’t matter how many pots of jam she makes, she has to stop pretending. She’s not [lifestyle guru] Martha Stewart.”
This is not the first time Cundy has spoken negatively about the Duchess, who she hasn’t spoken to for years.
Earlier this year, she claimed Meghan was “desperate to be liked” and wanted to “trump the royals with anything she does”.
These comments were made in April, not long after Meghan launched her As Ever brand and season one of her Netflix series “With Love, Meghan”.
Cundy told MailOnline at the time: “Sadly for her, you can’t buy likeability and she’s lacking in that by the bucket-load.”
