Prince Harry has announced that he will return to the UK for a special event.

The Duke of Sussex lives in Montecito, California, with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The 40-year-old last came to the UK in May when he lost a long-running legal battle with the Home Office over his security arrangements.

It has been confirmed that Harry will come to the UK once more for a charity awards ceremony.

His visit to the UK will fall on the third anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Prince Harry will be supporting the WellChild children’s charity – of which he is a long-standing patron – on Monday, September 8.

He said: “I am always privileged to attend the WellChild Awards and meet the incredible children, families and professionals who inspire us all with their strength and spirit.

“For 20 years, these awards have highlighted the courage of young people living with complex health needs and shone a light on the devoted caregivers – family and professionals – who support them every step of the way.

“Their stories remind us of the power of compassion, connection and community.”

Harry is expected to make a speech, meet with seriously ill children and their families, and present an award to an ‘inspirational child’ aged between four and six.

The duke has attended the awards 14 times before.

He has also held the role of the charity’s patron for 17 years.

The late Queen Elizabeth died at her beloved Balmoral estate in Scotland on September 8, 2022.
