Prince Harry is missing his old life in the UK according to claims from one of his friends.
The Duke of Sussex is currently on a trip to England where he will be attending a series of events. Harry, 40, jetted in on Monday (September 8) with a number of appearances planned out for his stay in the UK.
Upon landing he immediately went to visit the grave of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, before he headed to the WellChild awards for sick children, a charity for which he acts as a patron. It is unclear if Harry will visit with his father, King Charles III, during his trip, especially after the scathing remarks he made in his recent interview with the BBC over the King’s failure to intervene in his court case with the government over security costs.

With rumors circulating over the state of the King’s health, there could be many reasons why Harry may be wanting to spend more time closer to the UK. But now a friend of the Duke has claimed that he has been ramping up his contact with his old pals as well.

They told The Standard, “Spike (his nickname among his old school friends) is seriously homesick. He’s started reaching out to us more and more. It started with very long and earnest whatsapps. We actually all made a decision when we started getting them not to take the piss out of them.
“Something we couldn’t have imagined doing a few years before. Anyway, gradually he seems to be sounding more normal. Whenever anyone goes to America they try to see him. It never seems to be with Meghan though. We think he is beginning to pine for home.”
Meanwhile, another insider, a courtier for the King, told the publications that Charles is missing his son fervently. they explained, “Harry seems to have forgotten this but his father always absolutely adored him.
“He always called him ‘my darling boy’ and was so affectionate. People always seem to think that Harry inherited all his charm from his mother, but lots of the things he is good at, being attentive and always remembering people’s names, is something that comes directly from the King.”

In fact, Harry appeared to have a better relationship with his father, than his brother Prince William did, something he hinted at in his memoir Spare. He wrote of one of his last meetings with Prince William and the King, following the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, “Then at last I saw them. Shoulder to shoulder, striding towards me, they looked grim, almost menacing.
“More, they looked tightly aligned. My stomach dropped. Normally they would be squabbling about one thing or another, but now they appeared to be in lockstep – in league.”
While a meeting between Charles and Harry seemed more doubtful a few days ago, the King is now headed south from Balmoral, where he was seen attending the Braemar Highland Games over the weekend. He will be getting cancer treatment while visiting London, as well as attending the funeral of his cousin the Duchess of Kent at Westminster Cathedral.
It is not clear if Harry will also attend the funeral, which would require him to extend his planned trip by three days as it will take place on September 16.
