KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — On Wednesday, celebrities from the Tri-States gathered at the Kirksville Country Club for a round of golf for a great cause.
Hannibal Regional held its second annual Celebrity Golf Tournament
Thirty-six teams played with 24 golfers, with Missouri Sports Hall of Fame members among them.
That included former Chiefs defensive end Art Still and former punter David Brader.
Carolyn Chrisman, Director of Development for the Kirksville market.
“I think it’s just, for those maybe that don’t have a family member or friend that is having to currently seek cancer care, they might not realize just what a burden radiation treatment can be, where you have to go every day,” said Carolyn Chrisman, director of development for the Hannibal Regional Foundation. “So, it’s really is raising awareness and really the Kirksville community and the Hannibal community have partnered very well.”
The $75,000 raised from the golf tournament will go toward the Legacy of Hope Campaign for the new cancer center that is coming to Kirksville.
