Sydney Sweeney looks unrecognizable in ‘Christy’ trailer as boxer Christy Taylor
You think you what makes the world turn, but one day you’re going to wake up and realize that it turns just fine without you. [Music] Sydney Sweeny’s new film packs a punch. The actress looks unrecognizable in the first trailer for Christy. It’s a biopic about the real life boxer Christy Taylor. For the movie, Sid put on 30 lbs of muscle and traded in her famous long blonde locks for a variety of hairraising looks from a brown mullet to tight blonde braids to a long bob with bangs. Fans are already cheering on the 27-year-old’s transformation inside the ring, writing, “Good for her for breaking out of that hot girl box. Serious acting. Sydney Sweeney has great jeans and a shot at an Oscar. It’s totally giving me Ita vibes. That’s a reference to the 2017 Tanya Harding biopic that earned Margot Robbie several accolades. Christy got a standing ovation at the Toronto Film Festival last week, which brought it star to tears. At the TIFF premiere, she gushed over the woman she portrayed as absolutely incredible and so inspirational. But on the red carpet next to the real life Christy, she had to dodge a left hook about her American Eagle ad campaign, which playfully stated the blondhaired, blue-eyed beauty has great jeans. How does it feel, though, that it’s an advertisement that gets the most uh attention these days? I’m so excited for everybody to see. The New York Post gave the flick three out of four stars and called Sydney’s performance a total knockout. You can see it for yourself when Christy hits theaters. November 7th.
