Princess Kate has a new lease on life after surviving cancer, according to a source.
“Kate’s outlook on life is much more carefree these days, she’s giving herself permission to have more fun,” a source tells Star. “That’s why she’s changing her hair color and trying out different looks, she’s all about being spontaneous, which is very new for her.”
Last month, the Duchess of Cambridge, 43, debuted blonde locks — a major shakeup from her signature brown hair.
“In the past, she’d deliberate over every decision and most of the time talk herself out of doing anything too bold or different, out of fear of rocking the boat and being deemed not ‘worthy’ of the Crown,” the source reveals. “This Kate 2.0 is much bolder.”
The insider explains that Kate’s cancer battle led to the change. In January 2025, the royal announced her undisclosed form of cancer was in remission.
“A new version of her has emerged since her illness — she’s totally stopped sweating the small stuff,” the source explains. “It’s like she’s stepping into her full power.”
As for how her husband, Prince William, feels, the insider claims he “is loving the transformation” and “totally cheering her on.”
