Prince Harry returned to the UK this week, where he met with his father King Charles for the first time in almost two years.
The Duke of Sussex arrived in London on Monday for the annual WellChild Awards, before traveling to Nottingham on Tuesday for an official duty followed by a stop at Imperial College London.
A spokesperson for Harry has said he “loved” his time being back in the UK, despite the current tensions between him and the royal family. While Harry met with his father, Prince William and Kate Middleton were not inattendance at the meeting.
“He’s obviously loved being back in the U.K., catching up with old friends, colleagues, and just generally being able to support the incredible work of the causes that mean so much to him,” the spokesperson told People Magazine.
Harry appeared to be happy after his reunion with Charles, attending The Diana Award event the following evening.
Harry’s meeting with Charles was the first time he had seen his father in person in 19 months.
The pair met at Clarence House, at around 5.20 p.m. local time on Wednesday. The Duke of Sussex was inside the property for 55 minutes before leaving.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the monarch has a private tea with his son. No further details are being shared.
Following the meeting, Harry attended an event for the Invictus Games, where he was asked about his father. Responding to the reporter, the Duke of Sussex said, “He’s great, thank you.”
