During the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) premiere of his new movie Rental Family on Sept. 6, he stepped up when the director, Hikari, had a wardrobe malfunction.

The pair addressed the audience onstage when Hikari’s strap on her halter top broke. In a video shared by TIFF, you could see it all go down and their priceless (and justified) shocked reactions.

“Oh my god, look how I ripped it,” Hikari exclaimed.
Then, without hesitation, Brendan did what you’d expect from an Academy Award-winning actor who played Rick O’Connell in The Mummy and starred in George of the Jungle.
Like a real-life hero, he stepped in front of Hikari with arms out to shield her, but luckily, her top remained intact without the straps.
“I didn’t plan this,” Hikari said, right before she playfully called out an audience member. “Hey put that phone down. I’m just kidding! Shoot it. We got to remember this for the rest of our lives,” she said.

Brendan, visibly concerned because that’s the type of dude he is, added, “Wardrobe malfunction!”
Look at The Whale actor’s expression. He was stressed.
Fans wasted no time showering Brendan with praise for his quick thinking.
