Get ready to feast your eyes because we’re serving up another edition of our ongoing series, Celebrity Eats. Our own Emily Curl snagged a table at New York’s buzziest hot spot, Amelio’s Bolato, where she sat down with their star chef, Anthony Vito. Take a look. Here is just like it’s all family. So, my father’s in the front manning the door and then, you know, I’m in the kitchen cooking the food. My father bought it in 1989 from a guy named John Bolato. There’s so many A-listers, athletes, celebs that come through these doors. Rihanna, Brad Pitt, David Beckham. Who was the first person that you saw in the restaurant that you got excited about? Lenny Kravitz has been coming here since we opened. He’s literally like we consider him family. He actually bought our first awning cuz he loved the place so much. Walk us through the menu, what you created, um, and tell us a little bit about what we have here. Okay, so here we have our meatballs, pork and beef. That’s an appetizer that everyone starts off with. No, this is too good. This is a classic antipaso delicacas. Right here is a fried calamari with our in-housemade marinara sauce. And then over here, which is one of our best sellers, is our mogul regata, which is baked clams. That is incredible. Have you had like a favorite guest? Well, we’ve had a couple of the past presidents. Obama has been here. They watch every single ingredient you put in the food. First, we got to refresh our wine over here. You’re so right. You’re so right. Now, so this is the rietoni zucchini. Rieton zucchini is Lenny’s favorite dish and Zoe’s favorite dish. And then this is the special off the menu vio chop Antonio. This is homemade tayelli pasta with bologn sauce that I cooked for 8 hours. You are not supposed to bite. You’re supposed to slurp it. Okay, slurp it up. This sauce a It’s incredible. You just recently opened a new restaurant in Florida, which is huge. We’re actually in Fort Lauderdale, right on the beach. That menu is actually so all the kind of secret menu options that we have here. And then our final course over here, we got homemade canoli, we got our tiramisu, and we got our cheesecake. It’s so good. [Music]
