Prince William showed a tender moment of concern for his wife, Kate Middleton, during their meeting with Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge greeted the Trumps at Windsor Castle on the first full day of their state visit to the UK, having arrived yesterday evening. The POTUS and FLOTUS had stayed overnight at the US ambassadors’ residence near Regents Park.

As they walked across the castle’s lawn, a lip reader spotted Kate telling her husband: “My heels are sinking.” In response, Prince William was seen looking down at his wife’s feet, a look of worry crossing his face, before asking: “Are you okay though?”

Lip reader Nicola J Hickling further told the Express: “The King [was] mindful of both decorum and safety, while Trump leaned into his characteristic mix of praise and interruption.

“Inspecting the troops, King Charles can be seen cautioning Donald Trump with a gentle, ‘Watch the sword,’ as they moved past the ceremonial display. Trump, clearly in good spirits, responded admiringly with, ‘Isn’t he superb,’ before attempting to add, ‘Thank you and well done.’ At that point, Charles smoothly ushered him along, keeping the flow of the procession intact.”

Meanwhile, another lip reader believed that Trump showed his true feelings about William in an exchange earlier today. Lip-reader Jeremy Freeman said that Trump, speaking to the King, pointed to Prince William and said, “He’s like you, somebody who can open up all the global connections and make things happen. I’ll say he’s a good man, and if you want something, he’s a good guy.”

There was also an illuminating moment between the US President and Kate. As he stepped off Marine Force One, he appeared stunned by the Princess of Wales’ appearance.

Jeremy revealed Trump simply said: “You’re so beautiful, so beautiful.”

The Trumps continue their visit tonight with a state banquet at Windsor Castle before POTUS heads to Chequers for a sit down with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Melania, meanwhile, will join Kate and Camilla for various events around Windsor.
