Prince Harry may not have met with his older brother, Prince William, during his UK trip last week, but according to one of his pals, they will “embrace soon.” The Duke of Sussex made a four-day visit to his home country, attending various events and even meeting with his father, King Charles, for the first time in 19 months.
However, Harry, who has been in an ongoing feud for at least five years, did not see his brother, who was busy attending other engagements around the country. Now Alex Rayner, one of the Duke’s close pals from his days at Eton College, who went on a charity trek with him to the North Pole in 2012, said good things could be happening soon between the two feuding brothers.
He said: “As soon as the opportunity presents itself, we’ll see a wonderful embrace between the two brothers. Absolutely.”
Mr Rayner was asked by the Daily Mail if a reunion between Harry and William could be in the cards in the next few months, to which he replied: “I would hope so. Certainly, if not by the end of the year, then next. They’ll hug in the not-too-distant future.”
Harry spent 55 minutes at Clarence House having private tea with the King last week, with details of their meeting not being disclosed.
Meanwhile, he and William have not spoken to each other since 2022, when they both attended the late Queen’s funeral in London.
The pair did meet last summer for their uncle, Lord Fellowe’s funeral in Norfolk, but they reportedly did not exchange a single word.
Mr Rayner, who is said to be in regular contact with the King’s younger son, claimed that Harry is not that estranged from his father.
He said: “A rift between father and son is never that big. A father’s love for his son is pretty indestructible.”
Following his visit to the UK, the Duke’s spokesman said: “He’s obviously loved being back in the UK, catching up with old friends, colleagues and just generally being able to support the incredible work of the causes that mean so much to him.”
