Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly felt slighted by the British Royal family during Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK.

This week, the U.S. president and First Lady Melania were guests at Windsor Castle, having been invited by King Charles III and Queen Camila. Despite their packed schedule, the Prince and Princess of Wales also made time to meet with the President and his wife, a stark contrast to their distant behavior when Harry met with his father just days prior.

Along with the reigning couple, the two attended the Windsor Castle State Banquet, where Trump reportedly made a speech thanking his hosts for their hospitality.

In his speech, President Trump lavished praise on the royals, taking a moment to specifically laud Prince William as a “remarkable son” and expressing confidence in the heir’s “incredible success in the future.”

Many took note that Donald failed to mention Charles’s other son, Prince Harry, in his remarks. According to Rob Shuter, the Sussexes were taken aback by the comments, but they were more concerned about the reaction from the Royal family.

An insider revealed, “It was a dig, no question. Watching the family laugh along felt like betrayal.

“The pomp, the handshakes, the compliments – to them, it looks like bowing down to a man who has openly insulted them for years,” the source further explained.

Two years following their Royal wedding in 2018, the pair stepped down from their Royal duties and moved to Montecito, California.

While their disputes with the Royal family grew more intense following their departure, Meghan and Harry’s conflict with Donald started well before they left.

In May 2016, the actress appeared on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore while she was still part of the Suits cast. She had called the businessman “misogynistic” and “divisive.”

Their conflict has only grown worse since then, with Donald previously labeling Harry “whipped” and declaring he is “not a fan” of Meghan’s.

Before his re-election, the businessman threatened to deport the Duke if he returned to the Oval Office.

In February 2024, the former president spoke exclusively to the Daily Express US at the CPAC conference in Washington, D.C.

During the interview, he revealed, “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen [Elizabeth II]. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.”

His stance has shifted since he began his second term.

Speaking to the New York Post, he said, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
