Julianne Hough Says Her and Derek Hough’s Siblings Have ‘Sadness’ Over Not Achieving
Julianne Hoff says her and Derek Hoff siblings have sadness over not achieving same level of success. The 37-year-old dancing with the stars host has been a professional dancer, musician, actress, and more alongside her brother Derek Hoff. But Julianne and Derek also have three sisters who had an early interest in the entertainment industry that never panned out. My three older sisters, they all danced and sang and acted and we were in a band. Julian shared on the September 9th episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. When asked about sisters Katherine Hoff, Sher Hoff, and Marbbeth Hoff, she replied, “They had different paths. My oldest sister, she started in the Mormon way.” Julianne elaborated. So, she got married at 19 and had six kids. And then my second sister moved to Nashville to be a country star. And my third sister wanted to be an actress. We’ve had this conversation. There’s no jealousy, but there’s like a sadness that maybe there was an opportunity for them to experience it. Julianne explained, “They’re so happy. So, so, so happy. And look, they have great lives and they love their life. But, you know, it’s a what if we had an opportunity that they didn’t have.” Yeah. and it’s hard. The burlesque star admitted that she used to feel bad about sharing her successes with her family, which led to some estrangement. That was one of my biggest things was Derek and I were always so close because we had shared experiences, she said of her choreographer brother. Whereas like we never wanted to share because we were afraid to hurt someone’s feelings, but that just grew us further and further apart because we weren’t sharing. They didn’t feel included.
