Claims of a strained relationship between King Charles and his eldest son, Prince William, have been addressed by a palace insider following Prince Harry’s recent visit to the UK. As reported in the Daily Mail, there are concerns that some members of “Team Harry” might use the Duke’s recent meeting with his father to potentially create further tension between the King and his heir.
According to the outlet, a Royal insider stated: “These syrupy briefings from supposed Sussex sources are precisely why The King and Royal family are so hesitant to embark on any road to rapprochement. If the intention is to encourage a rebuilding of trust and relationships, they serve the precise opposite effect.
“As last week’s State Visit clearly demonstrated, the power and impact of the modern monarchy lies in the unshakeable bond between The King and the Prince of Wales, supported by other working members of the family.” The news emerges as it was reported William and Kate need one thing to happen before meeting Harry amid reconciliation hopes.

The most recent controversial claims were made to the Mail on Sunday newspaper, which reported that “high-level talks are underway to gradually bring King Charles and Prince Harry together in a public show of unity for the first time in at least six years”.

Earlier this month, Prince Harry flew to the UK to attend the WellChild Awards, during which he made time to see King Charles at Clarence House in between his engagements.
This is the first time he had seen him in over two years, reports the Express.
Prince Harry last saw his father, King Charles, in February 2024, shortly after the announcement that Charles was undergoing treatment for an unspecified form of cancer.
In a BBC interview last May, Harry revealed that his father wasn’t speaking to him due to their security disputes, but he expressed hope for reconciliation, saying “it would be nice to reconcile.”
Over the weekend, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, made an unexpected joint appearance at Kevin Costner’s star-studded charity event in Santa Barbara.
Meghan, now 44, accompanied her husband to the ‘Rock for First Responders’ One805LIVE! concert, held at the oceanside estate of the Yellowstone actor.
In other news, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were featured in an ABC News show celebrating 70 years of Disneyland.
The Royal couple will appear in ‘The Happiest Story on Earth: 70 Years of Disneyland’, which airs today.
This feature delves into the history of Disneyland while also giving viewers a glimpse into what the future holds for the iconic theme park.
Back in June, Meghan and Harry, along with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, enjoyed a family trip to Disneyland.
