Prince Harry is setting the record straight. Even though he loves his kids, who he shares with wife Meghan Markle, there is one area they will not be following in his footsteps.
Rumors recently swirled that Prince Archie, 6, would attend Eton College, the elite boarding school in Windsor that Harry himself went to. Supposedly, insiders told The Royalist that he had already registered Archie for the boarding school, per Daily Beast.
An insider went on to tell the outlet, “It’s no longer strictly necessary to put your kids’ names down at birth, but Harry has put Archie down. It’s fair to say he had mixed feelings about the school when he left, but looking back on it, he can appreciate the good.”

Another one of Harry’s alleged friends told Daily Mail, “I can tell you that Harry wants to educate the children [including daughter Lilibet, 4] here in the UK.” Apparently, he talked to his dad King Charles III about it during his visit to the UK earlier this month. “Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their niece and nephews are enjoying,” the insider continued, referring to Prince William’s kids Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.
“Harry wants his children to have the very best education,” the source continued. “He has retained his closest friendship group of confidants from his days at school at Ludgrove and Eton. He wants that for his own children.”
However, an official spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex has denied the claims. “I can confirm that the Duke has not put his son’s name down for Eton and has no plans to send his son there,” the spokesperson told PEOPLE.
Still, that doesn’t mean he would be opposed to a visit. One of Harry’s friends Joss Stone told Hello! earlier this month about a conversation she had with Harry during his visit to the UK. “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children,” Stone recalled. “It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back.”
Stone and her husband recently moved with their four children back to the UK, and Harry was interested in how that went. “He also asked about how we were settling back in and was genuinely interested in our move home. He’s just very warm and down to earth, as always. Maybe Harry will move back too. That would be nice,” she added.
If he does change his mind about moving back to the UK and enrolling Archie at Eton, he has a little bit of time. After all, most students don’t go there until they turn 13. Hopefully Archie and Lilibet will at least get to visit their dad’s home country before then!
