Scarlett Johansson’s discomfort as first-time director on ‘Eleanor The Great’ was good #shorts
What made you decide that this was going to be your territorial debut? You know, honestly, I was so curious about what June Squid wanted to star in at this stage in her career, and I didn’t have any expectations of what the story was going to be about. Um, and honestly, it started out as, you know, it was a lot of, you know, dry comedy, of course, a tragic loss, but then the film made such a, uh, unexpected turn and the stakes were so high. Um, you know, I just leaned into that and I was so invested in the outcome of the story and it just doesn’t happen that you have that experience reading the script regularly. Um, and I knew it was something very special. Um, did you feel immediately comfortable directing? Were there any nerves on the Did you throw up the first day? Um, I was I mean, of course, the you know, I I I don’t know that I was immediately comfortable. I don’t know that I’m ever immediately comfortable, but that’s good. If I was immediately comfortable, then it would probably be not the right thing. Um so I yeah I mean I it was it was a bit of a learning curve you know the first week and a half two weeks but then you know I think once the familiarizes themselves with one another and you understand more what’s what’s required of you on any holiday day then it gets easy you know I wouldn’t say easier but it gets more comfortable.
