Prince William and Kate Middleton have upset some Windsor residents with their new security measures at Forest Lodge.
The couple installed fences and cut off access to the parking lot of Windsor Great Park.
They’re currently renovating and plan to move in before the end of the year.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have apparently ruffled some feathers when it comes to their new neighbors in Windsor. The couple is preparing to move their family of five to Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park and have subsequently enacted some new security measures that not all residents are happy with.
More specifically, a 2.3-mile perimeter has been enacted around Forest Lodge, per The Times, and locals no longer have access to the area, including the Cranbourne Gate entrance and the parking lot of Windsor Great Park. Fences were installed on September 28.

“Many of us have been walking our dogs here for 20 years, so to be told we can’t any more is a kick in the teeth,” one resident told The Sun. “We pay annually towards the upkeep of a park, but we are no longer going to be allowed to use part of it.”
“They’ve only given us a few days’ notice to say this section of forest is closing forever,” she added. “Now I’ll need to get in my car to drive further afield to take my dog for a walk.”

Other neighbors have been more understanding of the need for security, especially given Prince William’s status as heir to the throne.
“Obviously, it’s disappointing as my dog loves it here,” another local told The Sun. “We come here every couple of weeks, and we’re going to have to find somewhere else now for him to get the miles in. But I completely understand that the safety of William, Kate and their family is paramount, so we should make sure they can live happily here.”

If everything goes according to schedule, the Wales family will be all moved in before the end of the year. Their new residence is just four miles down the road from their current home, Adelaide Cottage, but it is significantly larger, with double the number of bedrooms.
“This is a move for the long-term,” one insider told The Sun when news of the family’s move first broke. “They see it as their forever home.”
