Meghan Markle is grappling with what insiders are calling a humiliating slight after Mariah Carey appeared to forget their podcast interview during a British radio interview.
The pop superstar’s apparent memory lapse has left the Duchess of Sussex “reeling with embarrassment,” according to Radar Online, reviving an already awkward relationship between the two that dates back to 2022.
Carey appeared on Hits Radio recently to discuss her upcoming performance at Sandringham House.
When asked about her encounters with royalty, the Grammy-winning singer praised Sarah Ferguson as “cool” but made no mention of Markle, despite doing a viral interview with Markle for her Archetypes podcast three years ago.
At the time, the interview notably generated significant attention after Carey told Markle she exhibited “diva moments.”
Despite the apparent rejection, Markle has expressed interest in featuring Carey in her Netflix content, recognizing the publicity value an appearance could generate.
A Hollywood source familiar with Markle’s team described the emotional impact her show has had, “She has invested a lot of effort in aligning herself with the celebrity sisterhood, so being left out in this way is painful. Meghan regards her podcast as one of her proudest achievements, and for one of its most prominent guests to overlook it feels like a real setback.”
