What did Bad Bunny say in Spanish on SNL?
If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn. Bad Bunny had a lot to say during his Saturday Night Live opening monologue, but if you don’t speak Spanish, you were probably left in the dark. The Puerto Rican singer used his precious time on SNL season opener to respond to backlash surrounding the NFL’s decision to book him for this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. After joking that everyone was happy he was slated as the halftime performer, the 31-year-old singer took 30 seconds to call out his critics in his native tongue. The artist told the SNL crowd that he knew his fans were excited for his Super Bowl performance, then switched to Spanish, saying, especially all the Latinos and Latinos in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself. It’s a win for all of us. our footprints and our contribution in this country. No one will ever be able to take that away or erase it. The NFL has been criticized by pundits and politicians for choosing Bad Bunny, whose real name is Bonito Antonio Martinez Okasio as the halftime show performer after the three-time Grammy winner refused to bring his tour to the US except for Puerto Rico because he feared federal agents would be outside his concerts. During a press conference last week, White House press secretary Caroline Levit was koi about how President Trump felt about the NFL’s decision. I know there are many in this room who are very anxious to hear the president’s response to Bad Bunny being the halftime show. So, I won’t get ahead of him. I won’t reveal what he feels about this. As far as Ice being at the Super Bowl, as far as I’m aware, there’s no tangible plan for that in store right now. In an interview with conservative influencer Benny Johnson, Trump adviser Cory Luwendowski added some clarity, arguing that there was no safe haven in the country for illegal migrants, including the Super Bowl. Benny, there is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility and we will deport you. Homeland Security Secretary Christy Gnome also told Johnson that agents would be all over the Super Bowl, recommending that only law-abiding Americans should attend the February 8th game. Will there be ICE enforcement at the Super Bowl? There will be because the Department of Homeland Security is uh responsible for keeping it safe. Um so I have the responsibility for making sure everybody goes to the Super Bowl has the opportunity to enjoy it and to leave. And that’s what America is about. So yeah, we’ll be all over that place and I can’t. We’re going to enforce the law. So, I think people should not be coming to the Super Bowl unless they’re law-abiding Americans who love this country.
