During her appearance on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Taylor Swift hyped her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, and gushed over her favorite person, fiance Travis Kelce. She also broke down her runchy new track wood, insisting it actually started out in a very innocent place. Taylor said the song began as a playful nod to superstitions like Knocking on Wood, but joked that once she got in there and started vibing, things took a spicier turn, adding that the spice level on this album is high. I don’t know how we got here, but I love this song so much. She revealed that a very nervous Travis almost gave away his surprise marriage proposal. Um, I think for Travis, the podcast was just sort of like a distraction, sort of ruse to keep me not looking out the windows of the house. Taylor admitted she thought he was just really serious about giving her the privacy to do the podcast, but she knew something was up when she noticed his nervousness. He’s like, “My just my heart’s racing. I’m just I’ve never seen this dude nervous ever.” She explained that after filming the podcast, Travis asked her if she wanted to walk around the backyard and have a glass of wine. I realized exactly why all of the windows were curtained and why he was nervous. And yeah, look at this. It was the best possible case scenario. Later, the Tonight Show host thought it would be fun to list rumors he had read online about Taylor, which included her turning down the Super Bowl halftime show because the NFL wouldn’t allow her to own the footage.
